Ethical & Social Consciousness+
Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation
Witchery is proud of its ongoing support to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) through the White Shirt Campaign. Since first partnering with the OCRF in 2000, funding and campaigning has been instrumental in raising awareness for ovarian cancer and can be attributed to an increase of research scientists, new and more research projects and the purchasing of vital equipment.
Its success is based on the simplicity of the message: 100% of the proceeds, excluding GST, from the sale of each OCRF white shirt will go directly to the OCRF.
At the conclusion of the 2018 campaign, Witchery had proudly raised a cumulative $12.7 million for the OCRF. The fight to find an early detection test continues and so will Witchery’s support. Click here to read more about the OCRF.
The majority of the Country Road Group’s apparel and accessories are sourced offshore from a range of countries, including: China, India, Italy, Thailand, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Portugal, Vietnam and Australia.
Regardless of their location, all manufacturers are required to adhere to our high ethical, social and environmental standards. We’ve publicly disclosed our factory list. You can view the list here.

Sustainable Farming & Fabrics+
Better Cotton Initiative
Soft, breathable and with great moisture and heat control qualities, cotton is one of the most highly sought after fibres across the globe.
Witchery is committed to ensuring cotton is grown and produced more sustainably through our partnership with the Better Cotton Initiative.
By buying cotton products from Witchery; you are supporting BCI farmers to grow cotton in a way that protects the environment and improves the livelihoods of farming communities.
Fashionable and versatile fibers such as viscose are originally derived from natural wood sources. As a result, 150 million+ trees are threatened by logging globally to produce them each year, some of which are ancient and endangered forests.
By partnering with not-for-profit organization Canopy, Witchery is committed to ensuring cellulose-based fabrics used in garment production like viscose, are not sourced from the world’s endangered forests.
Durable and malleable, Witchery’s leather products are crafted from top grain natural skin and coloured using traditional tanning techniques.
Witchery is committed to improving traceability and promoting sustainability within its leather supply chain in response to environmental and animal welfare challenges posed on the fashion industry.
To gain a better understanding of where our leather comes from, Witchery has engaged our suppliers to map the leather supply chain. Encouraging suppliers to source leather from tanneries accredited against the Leather Working Group (LWG) standard – an environmental standard that promotes sustainable business practices within the leather industry.
Witchery will continue to work closely with suppliers to ensure we source the best quality cow, sheep and goat hide leathers.
Animal Welfare Principles
All of our manufacturers are required to promote animal welfare by minimising any potential harm, stress or pain to animals, and adhering to relevant national and international standards for Animal Welfare. Click here to download our Animal Welfare principles.
Due to the inhumane production of angora, Witchery discontinued any ordering of the fibre in January 2014.
Witchery will maintain this position until it is completely satisfied that the ethical standards in the procurement of the fibre are being followed by the angora industry.
A natural fibre that is soft, comfortable and luxurious to wear. Wool fibres naturally regulate body temperatures to make it perfect for all seasons.
Witchery is a proud supporter of the Australian wool industry and local merino wool production.
As a result, Witchery takes a proactive approach to source non-mulesed or ceased-mulesed wool where possible.
Witchery’s manufacturers must follow a stringent Environmental Code of Practice for dyeing, printing and finishing of merchandise supplied:
No dye or chemical used in the production of garments, fabrics, leather and/or textile related products to present an unacceptable health or environmental risk during or after manufacturing. Click here to download our ECoP.
