Do
- Witchery sunglasses may be taken to a reputable optometrist if tightening or repair is required after extensive use
- Always place sunglasses lens side up onto surfaces to avoid scratching
- To clean and protect both your frames and lenses, use the sunglasses cloth provided with a gentle lens solution
Don't
- Leave sunglasses in the car, as heat can cause the frame to warp
- Avoid wearing your sunglasses on top of your head as this can distort the shape
- Avoid leaving your sunglasses in the car to prevent warping, especially on hot days.
- To avoid scratches, never wipe the lens when dry as dust or particles may cause scratching
Sunglasses and fashion spectacles in Australia are classified into five categories by their performance suitability for use in certain conditions as follows:
- Lens category 0: Fashion spectacles
These are not sunglasses, as they have a very low ability to reduce sun glare. They provide limited or no UV protection. - Lens category 1: Fashion spectacles
Like category 0 lenses, these are not sunglasses; however, they do provide limited sun glare reduction and some UV protection. Fashion spectacles with category 1 lenses are not suitable for driving at night. - Lens category 2: Sunglasses
These sunglasses provide a medium level of sun glare reduction and good UV protection. - Lens category 3: Sunglasses
These sunglasses provide a high level of sun glare reduction and good UV protection. - Lens category 4: Sunglasses
These are special purpose sunglasses that provide a very high level of sun glare reduction and good UV protection. Lens category 4 sunglasses must not be used when driving at any time.
Restrictions of Use
- Not for direct observation of the sun
- Not for protection against artificial light sources, e.g. solaria
- Not for use as eye protection against mechanical impact hazards
All Witchery lenses are RX-able. This means that the lenses in these frames can be replaced with a prescription or optical lens by an optometrist.
